The cutest Piglet I've ever seen

My husband and I decided that Arianna will be a piglet for this year's halloween. Well, when we were at the store buying costume, the first costume Arianna tried on was a panda costume but she didn't like it so we switched to piglet! I think she's the cutest piglet ever! Haha!

My friend Tania kept on telling me to go to trunk or treat (church activity). I was kinda hesitant to go but I was glad we did. Arianna and I had sooooo much FUN.

I just wish my husband was with us. I feel like I am a single Mama sometimes because he's on deployment.  But I need to be positive that the date he will come home is just around the corner. I gotta be tough for 2 and a half more months.

Sadness

Tony left for deployment. He's only gone for almost 12 hours and I am already feeling the sadness.  I will try to be occupied so I won't feel depress. I am thinking, I have to do little projects every week. So watch out.
Here are some pictures I took when I was helping my husband pack his luggage.

She's so funny!

She wasn't helping at all. LOL

She didn't wanna get out of the luggage
Holidays this year will not be as fun as last year. I am still deciding if I will decorate our house for Christmas. Maybe yes or maybe no.

It was too windy outside so I took it inside the car. Arianna was not too happy.
Sadness... this too shall pass.

Apple Picking

The plan today was to go apple picking at one of the farms in Mount Vernon. But the farm that we went to didn't have any apple picking. Thanks to my wonderful husband that didn't listen to me that I wanted to go to Gordon Skagit Farm. I searched it online long time ago and my friend Angel told me about that farm too. So we ended up going at Rosabellas Garden Bakery. The name says it all. It's more like a store than a farm. I was kinda sad because they said they did apple picking last week. I told my husband that he should have called and asked them. And you know what he told me? "It's ok, they have apple donuts". He bought some donuts. They are actually really good. Now I can say that I had apple donuts. HAHA!

So we were driving around and I told Tony that we should check La Conner. It's a nice little town. Then while cruising around, we saw this bridge. We got curious where it leads to.

Little did we know that we were heading to an Indian Reservation. It's really far from the civilization. I told Tony to turn around but he didn't. I was getting scared because it wasn't a busy road. I know, I sound crazy but I am just being me. Finally, we found the hi-way. Good grief.

I told my husband that I really wanted to pick some apples. So on the way home, we saw this property that has an apple tree. We asked if we could pick some and the lady was nice and said yes.

Yeah, sometimes I wish I was tall. hehe!

Then, when we got done picking, there was a grandpa  sitting in his car waiting for us. We didn't realize that he was watching us. He was parked behind our car. You know me, I get scared easy. Good thing I was with my husband. So the grandpa just asked us if we had the permission to be on that property and we said yes and he took off.

Then we went to this farm by Crescent Harbor that has a big "Cider" sign. We went there and pick some more apples.

Arianna's first apple picking.

I also have to document my first apple picking.

APPLES
When we got home, I washed all the apples and ate one. Then after I got done eating it, I asked my husband if there's such thing as a poisonous apple. He laughed and looked at me and said "only the one that Snow White ate". I guess I make my husband happy when I ask him some of my " not-so-smart" questions. I liked his answer though. Haha!

I have heard that apples grow in the Philippines. I don't know if that's true or not. I haven't seen one. All I know is that there's a lot of mango and guava trees in the Philippines. You can get it for free if you have friends that have them in their yards. But here in the U.S . guavas and mangos are expensive but you can pick apples for free or you can buy them. =)

First hay ride

A good friend of mine gave me free tickets to go to the Dugualla Bay Farm hay ride, free pumpkin picking and corn maze. I was glad we were able to go. It was my and Arianna's first hay ride and we got to do it together! haha!

Arianna and Mommy's first hay ride.

She didn't want to sit on daddy's lap.  She was acting like a big girl.

Daddy: "Arianna, do you want this one?"

Yay! got one.

The corn maze was ok. The one's in Hawaii is better. =)

She wanted to walk and to her own thing.

Looking more like a toddler

People who have/had babies always tell me "They grow up too fast"! Well, it's true. I think Arianna is losing her baby face. She's looking more like a toddler now. but she is STILL a baby to me. haha! Today, I decided to fix Arianna's hair. She doesn't like her hair's tied so I had to bribed her. I gave her my camera lens cover so she would sit still and it worked.

Then she cried when I took the lens cover from her.

She was trying to ruin her pig tails.

I told her to clap her hands so she 'll forget about the pigtails

so cute
She remembered she still had the pigtails.

The end result.
I and my husband are so lucky to have Arianna in our lives. She always gives smiles to our faces. She makes us happy. She helps us grow as a couple and as parents. Can't believe she'll be 16 months old this month. Time flies so fast!

All about Fall

I made pumpkin bread for Lunch Bunch (get together potluck with friends). Since the theme was "halloween" and "all about fall", I asked my friend Angel if she had any idea on what I could bring. She told me about her recipes on her BLOG. I asked her because I always bring some type of Filipino food. I was thinking since it's about halloween too, I can bring "BALUT". Nah, I was just kidding. They would hate me and won't go to lunch bunch if I bring that thing. Ha! Anyway, I am just glad that I have friend who I can count on in terms of baking, cooking, crafting, a listener, a good advicer, you name it!

So I made Pumpkin Bread with Pumpkin shaped butter.

I also made mini apples dipped in melted chocolate, chopped nuts/sprinkles then drizzled with caramel.

Lunch Bunch for this month was a little different. We usually just get together, chit chat and eat. But Elaina had a little activity for that day. On the back of a piece of paper, you write your name then put it upside down so the other ladies will write something about what they think about you anonymously. So here's what I got.

  • How you live the gospel shows. You don't just believe in Christ, you follow Him as well. Thank you for your example.
  • You are a great person, a great friend. I'm very glad I know you.
  • I don't know you very well but you seem very friendly.
  • You rock lady! Always positive!
  • I love your desire to try and learn new things and all your incredible artistic talents!
  • You are always so friendly and kind. You are an incredible friend.
  • You are such a brave woman. I admire your willingness to do your best. God Bless.
After being unfriended by one of my friends, that piece of paper gave a huge smile on my face that day.

Mini Apples for Fall

I found the idea from here via Sugardoodle on facebook.  I decided to make them last Saturday. The only problem I had was the caramel. It was hard for the caramel to stick on the apples, it kept sliding off. So I dipped the apples first in melted chocolate then put them in the fridge. Then when the chococlate became hard, I dipped the apples in the caramel then to chopped nuts. Then put them in the fridge again. Don't ask me how many I ate. Haha!
